Siding - Miura Board

Miura Board is an extremely versatile material that provides an eco-friendly alternative to wood, plastic, cellulose, and fiber cement in a wide variety of outdoor construction projects. Miura Board siding is made from 100% waste plastics and fibers (e.g. rice hulls, Nylon/PET carpet diverted from landfills, etc). Because of its composition, Miura Board doesn’t risk exposing installers to harmful silica dust.

Miura Board can be worked with just like wood, whether you need to nail, drill, cut, or sand it, but it can also be water jet and welded in the same way as metal. This opens up great opportunities in decking, siding, concrete forming, and marine applications.

Why Miura Board™ Siding

Miura Board™ comes with a cost-efficient installation plan and is impervious to hail, water, termites, fungus, and mold. It carries high impact resistance and will never swell, crack, chip, or split. These factors contribute to very low maintenance costs after assembly.

Miura Board can be cut, drilled, nailed, routed, and sanded, just like wood. This building material is ideal for curved walls, soffit, and fascia. Workers can also remove and reinstall Miura Board as needed after initial assembly, and it will not crack or dent even in a hailstorm. On top of its silica dust-free composition, Miura Board™Tresists UV rays and is 100% recyclable. All these traits mean that Miura Board can stand the test of time, which we guarantee by offering a 30-year limited warranty for every product.

Miura Board siding is only made to order. Please provide the desired length, width, and thickness. Minimum order is $5,000.

Product Color

We use only recycled materials and so, we add no pigments. As a result, our product has been variously described as grey, slate, and even “cement-like” in appearance. What we deliver may look somewhat different from the sample.

Pigments – most often brown – can be added but this will result in a 50% price increase.

Miura Board™ can be painted too, unlike plastics, so please consider this option.

Technical Aspects of Miura Board™

Miura Board™ brings many one-of-a-kind technical aspects to bear as well. Miura Board has a density of 66 lbs./ft3, which is comparable to that of African Teak. It also possesses a specific gravity of 1.06 g/cm3. This means that a paver measuring 12” × 12” × 2” weighs approximately 10 lbs. It does not float.

Because Miura Board™ is not comprised of 100% resin but instead of a resin–fiber blend, there’s no static buildup.

An independent testing laboratory called Consultare, located in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, found that samples containing 30% fiber and 70% plastic achieved compressive strength test results of 5,874 psi (40.5 Mpa). The material also passed Izod impact resistance tests, which evaluate materials by hitting them with testing arms at various forces.

What’s more, customer testimonials from around the world attest to Miura Board’s superior ability to resist abrasion, especially in moisture-heavy environments that would rot or corrode other materials. Clients in Brazil, Argentina, and Chile have been deploying our products in residential, commercial, transportation, and extractive industry settings for many years.
